Helpful Information
This guide aims to provide 'general' information about BMW transmissions, such as common issues that we've encountered and tips on determining fitment compatibility.
Fog lights are often damaged in collisions or from road debris—we typically sell them for this reason.
Fog lights are designed to improve road visibility in foggy or hazardous weather conditions. Mounted lower than the main headlamps, BMW’s fog lights cut through poor weather, reducing glare and illuminating the road surface more directly for safer driving.
Earlier BMWs could have several different types of fog light for each model generation, but once you get into F-Generation they typically only have two types: halogen and LED.
There can be exceptions to this rule, so it’s worth confirming the BMW part numbers from the catalogue. This can be done by decoding your vehicle’s VIN in a BMW EPC (electronic part catalogue.)
If you don’t have access to an EPC, provide our team with your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN—and we’ll check our stock for a compatible match.
Fog lights are highly-interchangeable between vehicles sharing a common platform. For instance, many of the F-Generation 1, 2, 3 and 4 Series share fog lights (though there are separate LED and halogen types.)
